Eleanor Palmer (died 29 February 1558) was an English philanthropist who established a charity to help the poor of Chipping Barnet and Kentish Town. Her charity still exists and owns and runs almshouses and residential homes for the elderly. ==Family== Palmer was the daughter of Edward Cheseman, Cofferer and Keeper of the Wardrobe to Henry VII. Her brother was Robert Cheseman (Cheeseman) (1484/85-1547), the member of Parliament for Middlesex.〔(CHESEMAN, Robert (1484/85-1547), of Dormans Well, Norwood, Mdx. and London. ) The History of Parliament.
